Step 1: Prepare your Ecobee Switch+ Setup- It’s recommended that to install the switch+ during a day time
You will be requiring a tool to setup Ecobee Switch+
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Philips Head Screwdriver
- Pliers (it’s optional)
Ensure the Compatibility of lights want to control using Ecobee Switch Plus. Take a light that can be control from only 1 switch
Step 2: Remove Old Switch placed at your home
Step 3: Indentify Wiring (If you can, please consult an electrician to help out in this)
Step 4: Connect your Ecobee Switch+ at the wiring point. Fix them using screw.
Step 5: Now, you need to test installed ecobee switch+. For this, turn on the power where you have placed your Ecobee Switch+. At the time light of your Switch+ turns on. Test it by pressing the switch ON and your lights will get turn on.
Step 6: Finally, it’s done. Now, take your ecobee wall plate and snap it around the switch+

Troubleshooting: In case if your Ecobee Switch+ is not powering ON
Check Breaker: In case light doesn’t turn ON, step back to breaker and check that it’s ON for your switch+ or not. You can even try testing different lights powered by using the same breaker to ensure that it’s ON.
Check Wiring: If the breaker is well and power is ON then might be wire connection is loss or not connected properly. To check that follow below steps:
- Turn the power OFF at circuit breaker to which your switch+ is connected
- Unmount the Ecobee Switch+ from wall
- Just cross the wire that are correctly paired or not. Not a single wire should be loose. You can call any electrician to check these wire settings and connections.
- Now, mount back your Switch+ on the wall
- At last, open Circuit breaker and power ON.
