Troubleshoot: Alexa Multi-Room Music/Audio Not Working

First Solution: Check Your Internet Connection

At the very first check your Alexa Wi-Fi connection. One thing you need keep in mind that all echo devices should be connected to dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHZ / 5 GHz) networks which uses the 802.11a/b/g/n standard.

  • Now, restart your echo devices, Wi-Fi router to fix network issues on echo device.
  • Switch Off you router and modem simultaneously, and wait for at least 30 seconds.
  • Now, turn ON your modem and wait for it to get restart appropriately
  • Once your modem gets restarted, switch ON your Router and hang around till it restarts properly
  • Whereas network hardware is restarting, till then unplug power adapter from Echo device for next 3 seconds and then plug in back.
  • However, you restart your Amazon Echo devices and network devices and then try to connect with Wi-Fi home network again.

Second Solution: Reset Your Echo Device

In case you echo device is unresponsive or not working with multi room music on Alexa App then one of the solution is reset echo device. Either you are having Echo (1st and 2nd Generation), Echo Dot (1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation), or Echo Show, we are giving steps on how to reset echo device. Third Solutions: Remove Echo Devices from Multi Room Music Groups

If still Alexa multi Room Music device unreachable or greyed out then you need to remove Amazon Echo devices linked under that specific group. You can also delete the group. In a way to do this Open Amazon Alexa App and then go to Smart Home section, select Groups and tap on your group in which you are facing multi-room music issue. Delete that group by tapping on the “trash” icon. After deleting the multi-room music groups setup it again. Follow the steps to create Alexa multi room music on Alexa App.
